The Mfantseman Municipal Imam, King Saeed Mohammed, has called on Muslims to uphold the values of love, truthfulness and justice, stressing that these virtues are essential for promoting peaceful coexistence within families, communities and the nation as a whole.

He made the call during this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration held at Mankessim in the Central Region.

Addressing the Muslim faithful, Imam King Saeed Mohammed noted that a society built on honesty, love and fairness would enjoy harmony and progress.

According to him, when individuals demonstrate these noble qualities in their daily lives, it becomes easier for people of different backgrounds and beliefs to live together in peace and unity.

He further urged the youth, who constitute a significant portion of the country’s population, to maintain the spirit of unity and discipline they exhibited during the celebrations and channel it into positive actions that would contribute to national development.

The Municipal Imam also used the occasion to offer prayers for President John Dramani Mahama, the Vice President, Ministers of State, Members of Parliament and other leaders entrusted with the responsibility of steering the affairs of the country. He prayed for divine wisdom, guidance and strength for them in the discharge of their duties.

The Central Regional Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Maulvi Abdiel Hameed Tahir, also underscored the importance of love and sacrifice within the family, drawing inspiration from the example of Prophet Abraham.

He explained that the significance of Eid-ul-Adha goes beyond the slaughtering and consumption of meat, emphasizing that the true essence of the celebration lies in demonstrating love, compassion and care among family members.

“It is meaningless to consume the meat of sacrifice if we fail to show genuine love between husbands and wives, parents and children, and among members of the community,” he said.

For his part, the Mankessim Zonal Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Hafiz Abdiel Samad Ahmed Boateng, called on Muslims to embrace total submission and obedience to Allah, describing it as the central message of Eid-ul-Adha.

He also urged the youth to respect and obey their leaders while adhering to moral principles and religious teachings.

According to him, if young people fully embrace the values of obedience, discipline and faith, they would be less likely to engage in immoral and anti-social activities that undermine societal development.

The celebration brought together Muslims from various communities within the municipality to offer prayers, share meals and reflect on the lessons of sacrifice, unity and devotion that underpin the Eid-ul-Adha festival.
