Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour
Lawyers for the Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, have issued a formal demand to transgender musician Angel Maxine, calling for an immediate retraction and apology over what they describe as defamatory claims circulated on social media.
In a letter dated April 27, 2026, the legal team, acting on behalf of the MP, accused Angel Maxine of publishing false statements across digital platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and X, alleging that the legislator is gay and had engaged in sexual relations with her.
The lawyers described the claims as “vile and defamatory,” insisting they are entirely false and without any factual basis.
According to the letter, Rev. Ntim Fordjour denies ever meeting, communicating with, or having any form of relationship or sexual contact with Angel Maxine. The legal team further stated that their client considers the allegations to be a fabrication that has caused significant harm to his personal and professional reputation.
They argued that the widespread circulation of the claims on multiple online platforms has exposed the MP to public ridicule and damaged his standing.
The lawyers have therefore demanded that Angel Maxine immediately cease and desist from making any further statements about their client, and issue an unqualified apology alongside a full retraction of the claims.
They also warned that failure to comply within seven days could result in legal action.
The development follows earlier public denial by Rev. Ntim Fordjour, who rejected allegations of any sexual relationship with Angel Maxine. The issue gained attention during discussions around the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, 2025, where concerns were raised about public expressions and claims related to sexual orientation.
Rev. Ntim Fordjour has maintained that the allegations against him are untrue and inconsistent with his beliefs.
