Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has secured the number one position on the ballot paper for the party’s National Chairmanship election scheduled for October 3, 2026.
Mr Boadu emerged first during the balloting process conducted as part of preparations for the party’s upcoming National Delegates Conference and national executive elections.
Former NPP Second Vice Chairman Sammy Crabbe picked the second position, while former National Chairman Paul Afoko secured the third slot.
Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko will contest from the fourth position on the ballot paper.
The ballot positions are expected to become an important feature of the candidates’ campaign strategies as they step up their engagements with delegates ahead of the October 3 polls.
The National Chairmanship race has attracted significant attention within the NPP, with the four candidates expected to intensify their campaigns and outreach efforts in the coming weeks.
The contenders are seeking to convince delegates that they have the experience, leadership capacity and organisational vision required to unite the party, strengthen its internal structures and rebuild its grassroots base.
