Abura Kwadowagya Queen Mother Appeals to Government for Development Support

The Queen Mother of Abura Kwadowagya, Nana Aba Abadua Ofowa II, has made a passionate appeal to government and the Member of Parliament for Abura Asebu Kwamankese, Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, to prioritize the development needs of her community.
Speaking in an interview with Tobinco Media Group’s Agyei Kwaku Mensah during this year’s annual Yam Festival (Egyadoto) at Abura Kwadowagya, Nana Aba Abaduwa Ofowa II lamented the lack of basic infrastructure and social amenities in the area.
She emphasized that when the national cake is being shared, the people of Abura Kwadowagya deserve their fair share of development projects.
“We are ready to support anyone who is willing to help us bring meaningful development to our community,” she assured.
The Queen Mother also advocated for greater respect for women, particularly queen mothers, highlighting their central role in chieftaincy and traditional leadership.
“Stools belong to women, and as such, queen mothers deserve the respect and recognition that comes with our position. Unfortunately, some chiefs in the Central Region do not accord us that respect. But respect is reciprocal, and it is key for unity and development,” she stressed.
On his part, the Assembly Member for Abura Kwadowagya, Mr. Kojo Amoah, also appealed for support from traditional leaders during communal labour activities. He explained that when chiefs lead by example and actively participate in such initiatives, it motivates residents to contribute their quota towards the development of the community.
The Yam Festival, which brought together chiefs, elders, youth, and other stakeholders, served as a platform to highlight the developmental challenges facing Abura Kwadowagya and to call for urgent government intervention.
