Interior Ministry Renews Curfew In Nkwanta Township

 

The Minister for the Interior has, on the advice of the Oti Regional Security Council, renewed the curfew hours for Nkwanta township and its surrounding areas in the Nkwanta South Municipality.

The new curfew, effective Tuesday, March 25, 2025, will be enforced from 8:00 pm. to 5:00 am daily.

In a statement signed by the Minister, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the government urged residents to remain calm and resolve disputes through established legal mechanisms.

“Government wishes to appeal to all to exercise restraint and to use the established mechanisms for the resolution of all their conflicts and disputes,” part of the statement read.

Additionally, the government reiterated that a ban remains in place on carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons within the township.

“Any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted,” the statement added.
