LIA Marks Africa Unity Day In Grand Style

Leaders International Academy (LIA) celebrated Africa Unity Day in grand fashion on Saturday, May 24, 2025, bringing together representatives from Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and Togo to honor the continent’s rich diversity, strength, and shared heritage.
This year’s theme, “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations,” set the tone for a powerful day of cultural exchange and thought-provoking dialogue. The program highlighted Africa’s historical struggles and underscored the ongoing pursuit of justice, equity, and restoration.
One of the event’s standout moments was the Pan-African Culinary Showcase, where participants sampled traditional dishes representing the vibrant culinary traditions of the Ewe of Togo, Bamileke of Cameroon, and Sénoufo of Ivory Coast. This flavorful journey through Africa’s kitchens offered guests a deeper appreciation for the continent’s gastronomic heritage.
The celebration also paid tribute to Africa’s iconic leaders—visionaries such as Kwame Nkrumah, Thomas Sankara, and Nelson Mandela—whose legacies continue to inspire movements for Pan-Africanism, self-determination, and unity. Through stirring speeches, interactive discussions, and artistic tributes, attendees reflected on their contributions and the enduring relevance of their leadership.
Musical performances, traditional dances, and spoken-word presentations further brought the spirit of Africa to life. These artistic expressions captured the essence of each nation’s cultural identity and served as a unifying force for participants and guests alike.
Throughout the event, the theme of reparations and justice remained central, serving as a poignant reminder of Africa’s enduring resilience and the collective call for fairness, healing, and sustainable progress.
