The Concerned Residents of the Mfantseman Municipality have appealed to the public to disregard what they describe as unverified audio recordings and videos circulating across social and mainstream media, allegedly linked to remarks involving the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah, popularly known as Mfantseman KK.
In a press statement signed by the group, the Concerned Residents said they had taken note of the viral materials, which feature executives of the Mankessim Traders Association making allegations against the MCE. However, they stressed that the claims remain unverified and should not be accepted as fact until all relevant information has been established.
“We, the Concerned Residents of the Mfantseman Municipality, have taken note of videos and audio recordings circulating on social media and some mainstream media platforms in which the executives of the Mankessim Traders Association make allegations against the Municipal Chief Executive of the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly, Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah,” the statement said.

The group maintained that, in its assessment, the allegations do not reflect the MCE’s performance or character since assuming office.
“We therefore urge the public to exercise caution and avoid drawing conclusions until all relevant facts have been established,” the statement added.
Development Initiatives Highlighted
To support their position, the Concerned Residents outlined what they described as key achievements of Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah during his approximately one year in office.
According to the statement, the MCE has strengthened collaboration between the Municipal Assembly and major stakeholders, including traditional authorities, teachers, health professionals, security agencies, traders, business owners, and community leaders to promote inclusive development across the municipality.
The group also credited him with introducing the Electoral Area-Based Clean-Up Exercise Initiative, which they said has so far been successfully implemented in 31 of the municipality’s 36 electoral areas.
They further noted that the sanitation programme has contributed to Mfantseman’s rise in the Central Region’s sanitation rankings—from 22nd position in 2024 to 9th position in 2025—with expectations of even greater improvement.
Additionally, the statement highlighted the permanent employment of 50 residents as sanitation sweepers, describing it as a first-of-its-kind initiative in the Central Region. It also cited the procurement of sanitation equipment, including skip containers, tricycles, shovels and other logistics to strengthen waste management efforts.
Infrastructure and Education Projects
The Concerned Residents further listed several infrastructure projects being executed under the District Assemblies Common Fund, including:
Construction of a six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Lower Town, Saltpond (approximately 90% complete).
Construction of a three-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Towoboase-Abankrom (approximately 99% complete).
Completion of a six-unit classroom block at Mfantseman Basic School, Saltpond (approximately 99% complete).
Construction of CHPS compounds with nurses’ accommodation at Baifikrom and Amissakrom, both nearing completion.
Drilling of 11 boreholes in selected communities, including Baifikrom, Amissakrom, the new site of Kwegyir Aggrey Senior High School, Buranamua, Kwesil Ansah, Towoboase and Duadze.
Call for Constructive Engagement
Touching on the ongoing public discourse, the group acknowledged discussions surrounding the political affiliations of some executives of the Mankessim Traders Association but urged all stakeholders to prioritise dialogue and the overall development of the municipality.
“We are aware of public discussions regarding the political affiliations of some executives of the Mankessim Traders Association and their positions on certain Assembly initiatives. While these matters have been widely discussed, we encourage all stakeholders to engage constructively and in the interest of the Municipality’s development,” the statement noted.
The Concerned Residents reiterated that, based on their interactions with Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah, they do not believe the allegations circulating against him accurately represent his character or conduct.
The group concluded by expressing appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for appointing Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah as the Municipal Chief Executive for Mfantseman.
