The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Mfantseman, Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah, popularly known as Mfantseman KK, has called on political leaders, public servants, religious bodies, traditional authorities, and residents of the municipality to work together in promoting peace, justice, accountability, and national cohesion to build the Ghana everyone desires.

Speaking at the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Day celebration held at the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly Hall in Saltpond, Hon. Acquah said Ghana’s development requires the collective efforts of all citizens, regardless of their political, religious, or social backgrounds.

He noted that the national theme, “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want,” serves as a reminder that sustainable national development can only be achieved when citizens embrace integrity, discipline, patriotism, and a shared commitment to the country’s progress.

The Mfantseman Municipality joined the rest of the country in observing the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Day, an initiative declared by President John Dramani Mahama to encourage Ghanaians to seek God’s guidance, give thanks for the nation’s peace, and renew their commitment to national development.

Delivering the sermon, the Chairman of the Saltpond Local Council of Churches and Secretary of the Mfantseman Local Council of Churches, Rev. Wisdom Mawu Dodzi, called on Ghanaians to embrace righteousness, unity, honesty, and the fear of God as the foundation for national transformation.

According to Rev. Dodzi, Ghana’s future depends not only on sound policies but also on the moral renewal of its people. He urged citizens to return to the values of honesty, discipline, hard work, patriotism, and selfless service.

He lamented that corruption, indiscipline, dishonesty, and selfishness continue to undermine national progress, stressing that genuine change must begin with individuals, families, institutions, and communities.

Rev. Dodzi also urged Ghanaians to rise above political differences after elections and work together in the interest of the nation, emphasising that peace, unity, and mutual respect are indispensable to building a prosperous Ghana.

The celebration brought together religious leaders, traditional authorities, government officials, security personnel, and members of the public for prayers, worship, and reflection.

Special prayers were offered for President John Dramani Mahama, government officials, the judiciary, the security services, traditional leaders, the youth, and all Ghanaians, asking God to grant the nation’s leaders wisdom, strength, and guidance while preserving the peace, stability, and prosperity of Ghana.
