Court Remands 13 People Over Narcotics Charges

The Sekyere Central Circuit Court at Nsuta, presided over by His Lordship Simon Nketiah Gaga, on Thursday remanded 13 men into police custody on charges related to narcotic drugs.
The Prosecutor, Detective Chief Inspector Charles Vitarshie, told the court that the accused persons are known drug users within Effiduase-Asokore and its surrounding areas.
He explained that the suspects were arrested by the Effiduase Divisional Police Command, led by Chief Superintendent Philbert Zubaviel, during a swoop on known drug hubs in Effiduase, Asokore, and nearby towns on July 8, 2025.
The suspects were found in possession of suspected narcotic substances. A search conducted on them led to the discovery of black polythene bags containing dried herbs believed to be cannabis. Additionally, Tramadol tablets were found on Adomako Elvis.
The exhibits have been sent to the Police Forensic Laboratory in Accra for further examination.
The accused persons are:
- Dambaru Prince, 22, resident of Asokore
- Seidu Prince, 24, trader, resident of Asokore
- Adomako Elvis, 24, driver’s mate, found with Tramadol tablets
- Kassim Adams, 27, unemployed, resident of Effiduase
- Dauda Muftawu, 27, carpenter, from Effiduase
- Amanu Awudu, driver’s mate, resident of Effiduase
- Emmanuel Boateng, 25, barber, from Senkyi
- Afrifa Boaten, 35, tailor, from Effiduase
- Stephen Addai, 29, driver, from Nyanfa
- Philip, 18, unemployed, from Asokore
- Benjamin Offen, 22, mason, from Nyanfa
- Kofi, 41, mechanic
- Frank Amankwaa, 35, tricycle rider, from Nyanfa
The case has been adjourned to allow for further investigations.
