Queen Mother of Gomoa Brofo Calls for Unity After Destoolment of Chief

The Queen Mother of Gomoa Brofo in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region, Nana Amowi III, has appealed for unity and calm among residents following the destoolment of the chief of Gomoa Brofo, Nana Gyan Ansaful III, by the Gomoa Assin Traditional Council.

Speaking to the media after the ruling, Nana Amowi III urged the people of Gomoa Brofo to remain steadfast and united in order to move the community forward through peace and development.

According to her, the matter had been before the traditional council’s court, and after careful deliberations, a final ruling was given leading to the destoolment of Nana Gyan Ansaful III. She explained that the chief, who resides in Canada, had long been absent from his people and could no longer effectively rule over the community.

“What we need now is peace, not litigation. I plead with my people not to panic or feel divided by this decision. Instead, we must unite and work together to ensure development in Gomoa Brofo,” the Queen Mother emphasized.

The Ebusuapanyin of Gomoa Brofo, Ebusuapanyin Kwesi Ewusi, also expressed his views on the ruling. He stated that after presenting their case to the Gomoa Assin Traditional Council, the decision was made that Nana Ansaful III and his followers can no longer present themselves as chiefs in the community.

He further noted that the ruling was not meant to create hostility, stressing that the leadership holds no grudges against any individual or group. He therefore appealed to all residents to let go of differences, embrace peace, and work together to bring meaningful development to the community.

Both the Queen Mother and the Ebusuapanyin reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring stability, unity, and progress in Gomoa Brofo, calling on indigenes at home and abroad to support their efforts.
