High Court Affirms Lawful Marriages of Both Women to Late Music Legend Daddy Lumba [Full Judgment]

The High Court in Kumasi has ruled that both Akosua Serwaa Fosuh and Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni, were legally married to the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, widely known as Daddy Lumba.

The judgment, delivered on Friday, November 28, 2025, by Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur, dismissed a suit filed by Akosua Serwaa in which she sought a declaration that she was the sole lawful wife of the musician and therefore solely entitled to perform his widowhood rites.

Akosua Serwaa had argued that Daddy Lumba married her under the Ordinance (Civil Marriage), making her the only surviving spouse.

However, the Court held that both women were customarily married to the late musician, and therefore neither could be declared the sole wife.
