A building collapse at Papase No. 1 in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region has led to the demise of a four-year-old boy and left one other victim critically injured.
The building collapsed during a rainstorm on Monday, April 13, trapping both victims.
Following their rescue, Godsway Nutsugah was found dead while his elder brother, 35-year-old Seth Nutsugah, was already in a critical state.
He was rushed to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Both victims were reported to be sleeping at the time of the disaster.
Speaking to Citi News, the Awutu Senya West District Nadmo Director, Salifu Adams, said his outfit has revised rescue operations to ensure effectiveness as the rainy season approaches.
He has, however, cautioned residents, particularly those in flood-risk zones, to be more cautious.
