Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Boakye Agyarko, has appealed to party faithful who have left the party for various reasons to return and contribute to efforts aimed at rebuilding and strengthening the NPP ahead of future elections.

The former Minister of Energy made the appeal during a meeting with the Central Regional executives and constituency executives of the party as part of his campaign to secure support for his bid for the NPP National Chairmanship position.

Addressing party delegates and executives, Hon. Boakye Agyarko formally reiterated his intention to contest for the National Chairman position, stressing the need for unity and collective action within the party.

According to him, the NPP can only regain the confidence of Ghanaians and position itself strongly for a return to power if all members, including those who have become disillusioned or distanced themselves from the party, come together under a common purpose.

“I want to appeal to all party members who, for one reason or another, have left the NPP to come back home. The party needs every committed member at this critical moment. Together, we can rebuild and reposition the NPP for victory in future elections,” he stated.

Hon. Boakye Agyarko emphasized that reconciliation and inclusiveness would be central to his leadership should he be elected National Chairman. He noted that the party’s strength lies in its grassroots support base and the collective contributions of its members across the country.

He further urged party supporters to set aside differences and work towards restoring the NPP’s image and credibility, adding that a united front would demonstrate to Ghanaians that the party is prepared to govern again.

Speaking on behalf of constituency executives, the Cape Coast North Constituency Chairman, Mr. Kojo Arhin, urged delegates to prioritize competence, wisdom and leadership qualities when choosing the next National Chairman.

He cautioned party members against allowing tribal, regional or hometown considerations to influence their decision, stressing that the party needs a leader who possesses the experience and vision required to strengthen the NPP and prepare it for future electoral success.

“We must elect someone based on capability and wisdom, not because he comes from our hometown or region. The future of the party depends on choosing the right person for the job,” Mr. Arhin stated.

Other speakers at the meeting, including former Member of Parliament for Suhum, Hon. Alex Tetteh, and former Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Hon. Sheila Bartels, also expressed confidence in Boakye Agyarko’s leadership credentials.

They noted that throughout his political career, Boakye Agyarko has demonstrated a strong commitment to party organization and development, adding that he possesses the experience and strategic vision needed to lead efforts to reorganize and strengthen the NPP.

The visit forms part of Hon. Boakye Agyarko’s nationwide engagement with party executives and grassroots members as he seeks support for his bid to become the next National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.
