The Omankrado of Ajumako Entumil, Nana Oboh III, has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering peace, unity and sustainable development in the community, assuring residents that his leadership will focus on advancing the town’s progress and improving the welfare of its people.
Speaking during this year’s Ahobaa Festival, celebrated in honour of Egya Ahor, the revered hero who sacrificed himself to save the Fante people from a devastating pandemic, Nana Oboh III emphasized the need for communal harmony as a foundation for development.
Addressing a durbar of chiefs, elders, youth and citizens gathered to commemorate Egya Ahor’s bravery and selflessness, Nana Oboh III noted that the longstanding chieftaincy litigation involving Ajumako Entumil predates his birth. However, he stressed that since assuming leadership, he has worked tirelessly to ensure peace and stability in the community.
According to him, he continues to collaborate closely with his elders and opinion leaders to resolve all outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means.
“I remain committed to maintaining peace in Entumil and ensuring that every dispute is settled amicably for the benefit of our people,” he stated.
Nana Oboh III also assured the youth that development remains a top priority under his leadership. He pledged to spearhead initiatives that would transform Ajumako Entumil and enhance its status within the Ajumako Traditional Area.
As part of efforts to strengthen unity, he expressed optimism that future traditional celebrations, including the Akwanbo Festival, would be held without legal injunctions or disputes, allowing residents to celebrate their culture and heritage in harmony.
The Omankrado further disclosed that the Ajumako Traditional Council, under the leadership of the Omanhene, Ogyeabo Okokodurfo Kwamena Hamah Ababio II, officially recognizes him as the legitimate Omankrado of Ajumako Entumil.

Supporting his remarks, the Tufohen of Ajumako Entumil, Nana Kwa Fosu III, acknowledged that chieftaincy disputes in the town have persisted for many years. He, however, expressed confidence in Nana Oboh III’s vision and leadership, describing him as a unifying figure capable of bringing lasting peace, unity and development to the community.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the festival, the Omanhen of the Ajumako Traditional Area, Ogyeabo Okokodurfo Kwamena Hamah Ababio II, reaffirmed the Traditional Council’s recognition of Nana Oboh III as the rightful Omankrado of Entumil.

The Omanhen explained that Nana Oboh III has successfully performed all the customary rites and fulfilled the traditional requirements prescribed by the Ajumako Traditional Council, thereby validating his position.
The Ahobaa Festival, which celebrates the sacrifice and heroism of Agya Ahor, continues to serve as an important cultural event that promotes unity, heritage preservation and community development among the people of Ajumako and the wider Fante community.
