Mankessim Accident: Tipper Truck and Motorcycle Crash Leaves Two in Critical Condition

Two people are in critical condition following a serious road accident involving a tipper truck and a motorcycle at the Brent Fuel Station area in Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.
According to eyewitnesses, the crash occurred on Monday afternoon 12:15PM when a tipper truck with registration number GS 3488-25 allegedly rammed into a motorcycle carrying two passengers.
Residents who witnessed the incident blamed the accident on what they described as reckless and careless driving by the truck driver.
“The truck was speeding and failed to exercise caution before crashing into the motorcycle,” eyewitnesses told NewsAfricaGhana.
The impact of the collision left both riders unconscious on the roadside. One of the victims reportedly sustained severe facial injuries, including broken teeth, and was seen bleeding profusely from the mouth.

Good Samaritans and emergency responders rushed to the scene and transported the victims to the Mercy Women’s Catholic Hospital in Mankessim, where they are receiving urgent medical treatment.
Residents Renew Calls for Traffic Lights in Mankessim
The accident has reignited concerns among residents over the increasing number of road crashes in Mankessim.
Many residents say the Brent Fuel Station stretch has become a major accident hotspot and are urging the government and the Ghana Highway Authority to install traffic lights and speed-control measures to improve road safety.


“We have witnessed too many accidents on this stretch. Authorities must act now before more lives are lost,” a resident lamented.
The latest incident adds to growing calls for stricter enforcement of road traffic regulations and improved infrastructure to protect motorists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians in the bustling commercial town.
Police are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
